ATPAC is a dynamic
group of Thai professionals in North America. Founded in 1991 and registered
as a non-profit organization in 1992, ATPAC has carried out more than
100 collaborative projects and activities with organizations in Thailand.
These projects were financially supported by organizations in Canada,
Thailand and the US.
Mission
1. To promote the
advancement of scientific knowledge, technology and education in Thailand.
2. To establish a liaison and promote cooperation between ATPAC and related
organizations in Thailand
the United States, Canada and other countries.
3. To maintain a close association and fraternity among members.
Activities:
1. Develops networks
for mutual contact between professionals in North America within and outside
ATPAC.
2. Provides information,
expert advice and training to organizations in Thailand by (i) encouraging
members to promote and carry out research with collaborating Thai organizations
and give courses, seminars and workshops, and (ii) identifying appropriate
North American institutions for training. |

Professional
Groups:
In
order to address specific needs in Thailand, a number of professional
groups have been created within ATPAC. These groups cover a board spectrum
of professional interests, including agriculture, education, engineering,
health sciences and social sciences. A number of task-forces have also
been established to carry out short-term assignments.
Organization:
For
administrative purposes, ATPAC is geographically divided into five regions:
Canada, US East, US North, US South, and US West. Each region elects
its own Director and initiates its own activities.
