Museum Planning and Developing Trip: Kon Kaen University

10/2/2004 Eight delegates from Konkaen University: Dr. Sumon Sakolchai, President, Dr. Arom Tattawasart, VP, Dr. Wanchai Soomleg, Dean of science, Dr. Pisit Charoensudjai, Dr. Achra Thammathaworn, Ajarn Vichit Klangboonkrong, Ajarn Songyot Pongpimol, Dr. Atchara Sakrajai, director of provincial Science Center for KonKaen and Dr. Paungthip Boonperm from ATPAC had a meeting with the director of Center for Teaching and Learning, Miss Darlene Librero at the Exploratorium, San Francisco. The mission was to explore, learn and discuss on how to develop a science museum.
 

10/3/2004 The same group met with Ms. Kathy Barret, director of Family Health program of Lawrence Hall of Science, University of California, Berkeley. The meeting was to find out the structure and operation of a science university museum.

10/5/2004 The same group met with Ms. Anita Kern, Dean of Science, Ms. Aneli Nugteren, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Fernbank Museum of Natural History. The meeting was to learn and find out how to develop, operate and build partnership with the Fernbank Museum of Natural History.

10/6/2004 The same group went to visit the Fernbank Science Center and met with Dr.Ed Finkel. The Fernbank Science Center works with public schools by delivering and providing many different science activities and programs to school children. The university would like to develop partnership with the Fernbank Science Center.

10/7/2004 The same group went to visit the planetarium at the Emory University. Dr. Richard Williamnon, Planetarium & Observatory Director briefed and demonstrated how to develop and operate a classroom university planetarium
